Travling to Saudi Arabia

Traveling to Saudi Arabia

Traveling to another country can be a challenge sometimes. Especially when going to Saudi Arabia because there culture and religion are so different from ours. It also would not be smart to travel their because they are leading air strikes against Yemen.

So while you travel be careful and have caution. Also Saudi Arabia might be closing tourist out of their country and you will not be able to go. Lastly while traveling to a foreign country have fun and try new things!

Religion in Saudi Arabia

Religion in Saudi Arabia

In Saudi Arabia there is a pretty strict religion. First off most people in Saudi Arabia are Muslim, but that does not discourage them from learning a different religion. Secondly they have to respect the Holy Quran, because that is what they study in Saudi Arabia. People cught proselytizing another faith my be arrested and imprisoned.

Also in Saudi Arabia they have a dress code for religion. The men have to wear something that covers their entire body and a head cloth that is normally checkered known as a keffiyeh. The women most of the time have to wear a full body abaya as well as a niqab which is a black head piece that normally covers the whole head and face, then there is a slit opening for the eyes. Lastly if you visit Saudi Arabia you dont have to follow the rules, but you are expeced to at least dress nice.

Saudi Arabia Food

Food in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabian food is traditionally spicy or hot, because they like hot foods. If you like rich or spicy foods you will like Saudi Arabia's food. The majority of their foods are savory and or spicy.

Some of their most common dishes are made up of meat, rice, wheat, vegtables, and spices. Also the resturants over there are not very exspensive. If you are looking for a good meal that is cheep go to Saudi Arabia, you are bound to like it.

Tourism in Saudi Arabia

Tourism in Saudi Arabia

In Saudi Arabia, you think they like tourist, but think again they kinda don't like us. Saudi Arabia is a pretty calm place with no interruptions, and when some foreigners come they don't like it because they are noisy and so curious. When we do visit sometimes Saudi Arabian people give us a polite yet firm please do not disturb to us foreigners.

Saudi Arabia also doesn't like visitors because they normally speak one language and its hard for them to understand. From some of this in the future Saudi Arabia may not let visitors into there country. Lastly some people think Saudi Arabia is just not ready for tourist.

Government in Saudi Arabia

Government in Saudi Arabia

In late 1993 King Fahd divided Saudi Arabia in 14 different provinces. He also created a way for him to communicate with them all by appointing governers for each province.   He is also assisted by a provincial council, which is composed of the heads of the province’s government departments.

In August 1993, King Fahd restructured the Majlis Al-Shura (national consultative council) to make it more efficient. In 1997 this expanded to 90 people. The main goal for them is to enforce some laws that they have made.

Current Events in Saudi Arabia

Modern Saudi Arabia was unified in the early 20th century by Abdulaziz Ibn Saud. This was big because it made the country way more modern than it was andit opened up more oppertunities. Also still to this day Saudi Arabia remains the worlds largest oil export. Saudi Arabia's population is also 90 percent Muslim Arab, it has been that way for a while.

Saudi Arabia is currently ruled by King Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud. He has been ruling since January of 2015 after his brother was killed. With this change it has opened up there military canpanign against Houthi rebels in neighboring Yemen.

History in Saudi Arabia

The History of Saudi Arabia

There is a lot of history in Saudi Arabia but the most popular is the oil production or recognizing oil. The very start of the oil was 1938 that was a while ago. After many years in 1973 Saudi Arabia starts a boycott for oil against western countries. The boycott actually supported Israel in the October War. Then 8 years later Saudi Arabia cuts the bonds between Israel when they made peace with Egypt.

Not only did they have a history of oil but also golf. In 1981 Saudi Arabia becomes a founding member of the golf cooperation council. This was very different, but I think it is cool and very unique thing for Saudi Arabia to accomplish.

In 2005 the first ever nationwide municipal elections took place. With this I think it will be cool for the history, and municipal elections are different from other countries. Lastly with the elections it will also help the people and economy grow a little bit more along with the history.

In 2010, only 5 years ago Saudi Arabia bought $60 billion worth of weapons from the United States. With this purchase it shows how much money Saudi Arabia get from their oil productions, and maybe a few other little things. Lastly I think this shows how serious Saudi Arabia is with weapons and ,making sure they don't lose the fight against any other country.
